Since nasi impit pun ada lagi (lebih from raya), so apalagi.. masak soto la... 
Nazir lak kebetulan nak singgah beraya, mmg langkah kanan la dia..

..Tong's Open House..

Us wif Intan & Tong @ front of their house
Yesterday we went to Tong's house in North London.. The food was delicious..
They served nasi impit, kuah kacang, nasi minyak with ayam masak merah, roti jala with kari ayam, cheese cake, chocolate cake, kuih-muih, kerepek, etc..
My aim was of course roti jala.. lama giler tak makan.. yum..yum..
And ayam masak merah pun sedap.. Kesimpulannya, semua sedap...

Our Raya Open House...
|
|
It was our first time ever to organise an open house on our own..
Kalau kat malaysia tue my mum yang masak or panggil caterer jer.. But this time, I can proudly say that all food masak sendiri by me with a help from Joe..  It's actually an achievement for me.. Masak for 20 people.. 
We invited around 20 people to our house.. Almost all them managed to come except Tong & wife (sbb wife demam) and Shahnaz (Shahnaz, sorry sangat2 sbb invite last minute)... Our first guest came around 12pm and the last one left at 8.30pm.. What a long day.. But, it was fun though, once in a while to organise such a gathering.. And somehow amazingly most of our guests are connected to each other or at least they know someone in common.. Hhmm.. what to say, most of them are Big-4 auditors.. ..
Thank you to everyone for coming to our house.. And Farah Yat, thank you for Kek Lapis & Kuih Tart.. Dua2 tue laku macam goreng pisang panas (betul ke pepatah melayu nie??)

I was in the kitchen, cooking dendeng (kononnya nak masak awal for Raya), when I received a call from my cousin Kak Long in Birm.. She wished me Selamat Hari Raya and said that ESOK RAYA!! At first I thought she was joking but then she said 'Betul, esok Raya!! My friends coming over to our house for takbir tonite'.. Then only I knew that she was serious..
I told Joe the shocking newss... Both of us like still blurrr...  So, I called my friend Farah Zila to confirm on this, and she said YES, TOMORROW iS RAYA!!! Haiyoo, macam mana nie? Food tak masak habis lagi, rumah tak kemas.. and we only knew it at 10pm that tomorrow Raya... Memang kelam-kabutss.. 
Although Friday Raya, it doesn't feel like Raya at all bcoz Joe had to go to work.. He didn't apply for leave cause we thought Raya will be on Saturday and he couldn't take MC cause he had meeting to attend..  I didn't even wear baju kurung nor eat Raya food on our first day Raya.. Sedihnya.. Its just like normal days.. Went out for some groceries shopping.. Balik rumah terus sambung masak kat dapur.. Masak sampai 1am and lepas tue lebam.. Well, that's our story on our first day of Raya in London..
2nd Day Raya
Today we got up early.. Susah betul nak kejut Qistinna, cause yesterday dia tido lambat (dia pun tolong masak sekali ).. Dress her up with her new baju kurung.. Alas perut with some nasi impit, kuah kacang & rendang... Then off we go to Azrai's house.. We were the first one to arrive.. We had nasi impit, rendang, kuah kacang & masak lodeh at Azrai's house.. Nyum..nyum..
Left Azrai's house around 3.30pm and off we go to the next open house, Farah Zila's house.. At Farah's house we had nasi minyak, ayam masak merah, rendang & kuih... Very nice..  She invited around 150++ guests.. Nie memang besar-besaran punya open house.. We left her house around 6.15pm.. Actually we wanted to left early (sbb nak kena masak lagi malam nnti), but knowing there's an England match today which ended around that time, and for sure Baker Street station will be crowded with England's fan.. so, we decided to wait until kurang sikit orang..
Reached home around 6.45pm... rehat kejap.. And then sambung masak lagi bcoz tomorrow it will be our turn to organise open house..

Syrian food..

Yesterday we decided to try one of the restaurants near our place.. So, we chose Abu Zaad as our tempat untuk berbuka puasa  It was our first time eating Syrian food and it was yummy!!
Boleh tahan sedap juga...
Starters: Hommos, Tabbouleh & Hara Isbah..
